This has been my favorite jig to build to date. I mixed all the features of other builds that I liked.
I bought the silicon heat blanket/slats from Blues Creek. Thank you B/C,they work great. I used 3/4 Baltic ply on the body and individual molds. I picked up a 15 min bathroom timer, and wired it inline on the temp controller.

My first attempt to bend was less than amazing. I broke a The first rib because I was too impatient and started bending to fast. Second rib I gave enough time to warm up and the jig worked its magic.

I am glad that it only took one broken rib to get the hang of the machine. I am not glad however that I chose for that first rib to be Koa. I have since bent local ash to a om size and am loving this machine. Now every board I see leads to the question, would that look good as a guitar?

I will need to be careful, this thing is very additive.Image

You'll never be able to look at a straight line again! Nice looking rig, Matt! [:Y:]

You can easily add a pid controller a thermocouple wire and a 20 amp solid state relay..available via ebay and lots of info on the forum , just search blanket controller here is a pic of mine using a mechanical timer

Thanks for the input. I thought about the thermocoupler setup. But it worked pretty well with just a standard meat thermo stuck in the bending sandwich.

By the way what are you bending in the photo posted?
